Future of HoboWiki
Hi, everyone. Wanker here. I'd like to take a moment to discuss something with you. It seems, some people seem to think their gang is notable enough to deserve a page in the tutorial. I disagree. Until I came here, I didn't even know they existed. As well, the full extent of their article is a member's list. No gang history. Nothing. I'd like to lay down some ground rules that everyone can agree upon, so that we don't have to deal with the mess of noobs making pages about things that don't matter.
So, here's my idea for the HoboWiki Ten Commandments:
- 1. Pages are not to be signed with the writer's name.
- Ex: Every noob page.
- 2. Think! If half the game does not care for your topic, don't write about it.
- Ex: Every noob page.
- 3. Gangs, unless having a influential effect on our history, should not be written about.
- Point: Edge of the Earth, and various noob gangs. Counterpoint: Genesis, or various other gangs responsible for the audit.
- 4. Lists are not appreciated. Ever.
- Unless the list has a distinct point, such as marking a history.
Furthermore, I believe subsections should be established, seperating various sections. For example, all tutorial pages can go under Tutorial/ArticleName, historical articles can go under Historical/ArticleName and so on.
Lately, I should be made some form of WikiGuardian to protect against the heretical nature of invaders.
P.S. I am quite willing do all these changes on my own. I am quite bored with myself.

If you need any wiki help, let me know, I run a few large ones as prt of my RL job Chitown 13:00, 24 February 2007 (EST)
- It would be helpful. I think the first order is probably just expansion. There may not be too much to write about, but I'm sure we haven't documented some things. I'm always pushing for history, but we are lacking the old timers now and my memory isn't quite what it used to be. --Wanker 06:24, 25 February 2007 (EST)
- P.S. I was considering, maybe we should put up old newspaper articles? I don't know if the old papers are availible through the game, but I figure that would be a nice archive to have around.
I just went through and edited some of the articles to fix typos and some wrong information, mostly that listed in the Side Wars article. If you feel it's wrong feel free to change it yourself. I also want to point out that there is no Audit article even though there are several links to such topic. I myself was not around or I was too young to know anything about the article so I'm not able to write it myself. I would like to see someone do so in the near future or I could write it myself if someone is willing to send me some accurate information on the topic. -- Hobolina 4/08 07:16.16 AM HBW time.
I would like to add that players should not make pages about themselves (*cough* Hobolina *cough) or other Hobos. You and other people are not relevant to the tutorial and are not going to help new players understand the game any better. - OF 4/11/07 03:50.23 AM (Hobo Time)
- As a note, userpages are not considered to be part of a wiki and are not visible except through links, namely those on the frontpage. I wouldn't worry too much. --Wanker --130.15.225.174 22:01, 12 April 2007 (EST)
The Forces of Evil (AKA Writers)
DO NOT ADD YOURSELF TO THE: The Forces of Evil (AKA Writers)
That is for people who have actually wrote articles used on the hobowiki. Not for people who make minor edits, fix grammar, etc.
Oh, sorry. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again. -- Hobolina 4/08 05:48.08 PM HBW time
Logged Out?
Curious, is anyone else getting logged out, something about Session Data, every couple of minutes? I know I can't do jackshit without getting logged off. Need to do all my edits logged out for anything to work.--130.15.225.174 21:36, 12 April 2007 (EST)
...dammit, this is really gay. --130.15.225.174 21:37, 12 April 2007 (EST) (AKA: Wanker)
