Slang
As well as most of the usual Internet abbreviations and slang, quite a number of words have grown out of hobowars and are used on the message boards or in journals/comments. Indeed, one could say an entirely different colloquialism has evolved out of hobowars.

- Shorthand for awakeness. It's your energy.
- Rape
- Rape or raping is a term used to describe the act of paying another hobo to heal for you so that you can attack them and win.
- Rape Tax
- If you attack and kill someone whom has 35% or lower win percentage then the experience gained will be reduced by 35%.
- MB
- The Message Boards, and all the boards associated with it.
- CC
- Clan Chatter, a subsection of the Message Boards.
- DL
- Donator's Lair, a subsection of the Message Boards.
- F&G
- Fun & Games, a subsection of the Message Boards.
- GD
- General Discussion, a subsection of the Message Boards.
- NHBW
- Non-Hobowars, a subsection of the Message boards, and the most popular.
- Side Board
