Begging
Begging means going to the corner 7/11 and standing around with your cup for 10T to try and get some cash. The following is the brief rundown on begging; more information to be added.

Basic Information
Begging is pretty simple, but requires a lot of patience to get anywhere with. Very few people that play Hobowars have ever maxed out their begging, so don't expect it to happen overnight. The first step on the long road to reaching your goal is to max out your intel - get to level 25 and train at the University until it's 1000, then you can start your begging career.
Intel
[reserved for intel effects on begging]
Beg stat
Beg stat is your skill at begging. It goes up rather slowly, gaining more each beg, then at 100 beg the gains split and go up again, until 200 beg, when they split once more. Your begging stat is what allows you to upgrade your begging level.
Beg Upgrades
Your first beg upgrade will be at the begging stat milestone of 50, after that you start gaining exp from begging while alive. Getting the upgrades as soon as possible will increase the amount of money you gain from begging as well as the EXP you earn. The begging upgrades, and their prices, are outlined below.
Upgrade number | Begging Stat Required | Money Required |
---|---|---|
Upgrade 1 | 50 | $500,000 |
Upgrade 2 | 100 | $1,000,000 |
Upgrade 3 | 200 | $2,000,000 |
Upgrade 4 | 300 | $3,000,000 |
Upgrade 5 | 500 | $5,000,000 |
Other Sources of EXP
Raps and sluts are your secondary source of EXP when a begger. With the money you make from begging, you can pay for people to lose to you one way or another.
Gang Beg level
Gang beg levels helps with your begging, although you should never base your gang choice purely on their begging level. [More info to come?]
Further Advice
Try to keep enough points with you to refill three times or so, begging uses a lot of T and an extra bar spent on it can make all the difference while trying to get to your first upgrade or whatnot.
There's not much you can do about even or higher level fighters beating you, although if you're nice when caught begging, you can probably get back your cash. Otherwise, you can always get your gang to hitlist them.
There's two things you can do to help yourself out against inferior-level fighters:
1) Rat. Train his agility more than anything else, allowing him to get in the max number of hits. Speed bonuses from respect make this even more important.
2)Train Strength, this will reduce the damage done to you and can drag the fight out longer giving your rat time to do more damage or causing a draw.
Don't spend too much time training or your begging will fall behind. The two best times to train are when theres someone refreshing your profile and not letting you get 1 beg in before dieing, and when you get a 13+ score at the University. At the start of the day, it's a good idea to see what kind of score you can pry out of the University, you may get lucky and not waste time later.
