Originally created by Rev and later continued by Dr Shipman, Count de Monet, and Doctor Know, the Bummys are a (mostly) annual celebration of the best and worst of Hobowars.

Rev: "Like most good ideas, I came up with it while I was dropping a deuce. Yeah, poopin. My wife had left her copy of People magazine in the bathroom, and feeling like I was in this one for the long haul, I needed some reading material. I started to leaf through, and it was the "Best and Worst of 2005" issue. The wheels started to turn, and once I had finished doing my business I hopped on the computer and bounced the idea off of my muse, Yuk. He immediately liked the idea, and we kicked around some ideas for categories before I headed to the F&G board to post up the first annual Bummy Award nomination thread."

2005 Bummys

This inaugural year of the Bummys was run by Rev. No specific information about this year's rules is available, however it is assumed that the rules were the same as the 2006 Bummys rules as listed below. The only information about winners was a note in the HoboWeekly stating that RP McMurphy won Hobo of the Year.

The 2006 Bummys was again run by Rev, with Dr Shipman assisting by creating a Youtube video with the results.

Rules

• You may not receive votes from members of your own gang.
• You may only vote once per candidate.
• Players under 70 days old may not vote.
• Anyone found to be campaigning/paying people to vote for you will be disqualified.

2007 Bummys

Specific information about the 2007 Bummys rules and administration is missing since the message boards were accidentally deleted sometime in 2008 and the HoboWeekly was out of commission by that time.

The 2007 Bummys was either run by Rev, with Dr Shipman assisting by creating the Youtube videos with the results, or run entirely by Dr Shipman.

2008 Bummys

With Rev's departure from the game, the 2008 Bummys was run entirely by Dr Shipman. Of note, the 2008 Bummys began in November 2008, however the results were not calculated and posted until February 2009 due to Dr Shipman's computer problems.

• The nomination round will last for seven days.
• You can nominate anybody you want, including yourself, in any category you want.
• You can nominate a gang member or your own gang, but you will NOT be able to vote for them.
• You can nominate one person in all categories or you can nominate two people for the same category.
• Nominations cost $100,000 per person per category.
• You must be 100 days old or older to make nominations.
• You may not buy nominations or offer any kind of reward in exchange for nominations.

Voting Round

• The voting round will last for seven days.
• Anyone who was nominated is eligible for the voting round.
• You can vote for anybody you want, including yourself, in any category you want.
• You cannot vote for a gang member or your own gang.
• You can vote for as many people as you want in as many categories as you want, however you can only vote once per person per category.
• Votes cost $50,000 per person per category.
• You must be 100 days old or older to vote.
• You may not buy votes or offer any kind of reward in exchange for votes.
• Any gang you have been in from the day the nomination round begins until the day the voting round ends will not be able to vote for you.
• You cannot agree block voting with other gangs.

2009 Bummys

Like the 2008 Bummys, the 2009 Bummys was run entirely by Dr Shipman. The nomination and voting stages happened as planned, however sometime after the voting stage ended, Dr Shipman disappeared and the results were never published. It was a year of great sorrow.

2010 Bummys

With huge thanks to Cube!, 2010 brought us the first year of automated Bummys, hosted by Count de Monet.

An in-game system was created consisting of three stages: nomination stage, first voting stage, and final voting stage. This automated system allowed for direct nominating and voting and calculation of the results.

Most of the results are missing because there was no results video created for this year and no written information of the winners was recorded anywhere other than the first place winners being listed on the Bummys results page.

Of note, this was the first and only round of Bummys that allowed voting for gang mates.
