Marriage is a fun little thing you can do in HoboWars. It is mainly for social purposes, since there are no direct in-game benefits associated with it.
The Marriage Process
The marriage process in HoboWars goes through three simple steps.
The Ring
Obviously, you cannot propose to someone without a ring.
Therefore, you need to go to the Toy Store and buy one. However, unlike most items, rings can only be purchased with points.
The Proposal
The next step in the marriage process is to propose to the hobo you want to marry.
This is accomplished by going to your Living Area, clicking on the More Info tab near the top of the page, and clicking on the [Propose] link next to the Married to: Nobody list item.
After you click on the [Propose] link, you will go to the propose page.
Simply type in the Hobo ID of the hobo you want to propose to, and click the Find Hobo button.
You will be taken to another page listing the name of the hobo you are proposing to and another [Propose] link.
This propose link is the real thing this time. If you are absolutely certain that you want to propose to that hobo, then go ahead and click the propose link. A proposal notice will be sent out the that hobo.
Now that you know how to go about proposing to a hobo, it is only fair that you know the rules surrounding it.
- Rules of Prosposing
- You must have a ring in order to propose to someone.
- You cannot propose to anyone if you are already married. (You don't have the option to do so anyway.)
- You cannot propose to yourself.
- You can only propose to one hobo at a time.
If for some reason you want to cancel a proposal, go back to your Living Area, click on the More Info tab near the top of the page, and click on the [Cancel] link next to the Married to: Proposed to (Hobo's Name) list item.
The Wait
When you propose to someone, they get sent a proposal notice:
If that person accepts the proposal, you two become married!
If that person denies the proposal, well... Try again.
Divorce
Perhaps after being married for a while, you decide that it's best to end the marriage. That's all right. However, divorcing your hobo-spouse costs 10 points. Therefore, if you don't have the points, then you don't have the divorce.
To go about getting a divorce, go to your Living Area, click on the More Info tab near the top of the page, and click on the [Divorce] link next to the Married to: (Your Spouse's Name) list item.
You will then go to a confirmation screen. If you have the points, and the desire to get the divorce, go ahead and click the confirmation button.
FAQs
Here are some frequently asked questions regarding marriage in HoboWars:
Q: Does proposing make my ring disappear?
A: No, it does not.
Q: Does being married affect how my ring works?

Q: Can I propose to more than one hobo?
A: Yes, you can.
Q: Can I marry more than one hobo?
