History
Bernard's Mansion was originally designed and implemented by the late Governor Malord. It was meant to be a place that rewarded players with exclusive benefits, such as access to a 15T (later 20T) food item, an exclusive Message Board, and useful equipment known as Special Items, provided that they were at least level 20, partook in at least 1000 battles, and had at least a win percentage of 80%. It was also made top secret, meaning that any discussion of Bernard's Mansion or its contents in-game would lead to undesirable consequences, such as a loss of access to the Mansion, a Message Board ban, or even a jailing. Bernard's Mansion was popular among those who had access to it and largely went unchanged for many years.
It wasn't until June 15, 2010, that Bernard's Mansion saw its first significant update: Governor Cube released a revamped, redesigned Bernard's Mansion, one that was more accessible to more players and had better variety of benefits. He also tossed out the top secret policy of Bernard's Mansion, which allowed players to freely discuss Bernard's Mansion in-game.
So far, the updates to Bernard's Mansion have been generally well-received by the game's community.
Gaining Entry
Before you can enter Bernard's Mansion, there are two prerequisites that must be fulfilled:
- You must be at least 100.
- You must have at least 2500 battles under your belt.
Once you meet those two requirements, four ways to gain entry to the prestigious mansion will be available to you.
Entry Method #1: Receive permanent access to the mansion.
- You must have a lifetime win percentage of at least 80%.
- If your lifetime win percentage dips under 80%, you will lose access to the mansion until it is brought back up to 80%.
Entry Method #2: Receive 5 days of guaranteed access to the mansion, which are renewable once access is lost.
- You must have a lifetime win percentage of at least 50%.
- You must have fought in at least 1000 battles in the last six months, winning at least 80% of those battles.
- If your six-month win percentage dips under 80%, you cannot receive the five days of guaranteed access until it is brought back up to 80%.
Entry Method #3: Receive 30 days of guaranteed access to the mansion, which are renewable until access is lost.
- You must fork over $50,000,000 to Bernard.
- Use the computer inside of the mansion to buy more days of access for $1,500,000 per day of access.
Entry Method #4: Receive 30 days of guaranteed access to the mansion, which are renewable until access is lost.
- You must fork over 2,500,000 tokens to Bernard.
- Use the computer inside of the mansion to buy more days of access for 75,000 tokens per day of access.
Lastly, regardless of what entry method you chose, you must pay for a membership card, which costs 10 points. Once you purchase a membership card, you will never need to purchase another one again.
Also, keep in mind that once you receive guaranteed access, you cannot lose access to the mansion until your days of access run out, regardless of what your current win percentage is.
