Pac Chat

HoboWars2 Pac Chat

Pac Chat is a PHP chat application on HoboWars that was accessible from the Original layout. The name is derived from its representative icon, a small, Pac-Man-like figure shooting sound waves at an invisible enemy.

HoboWars2 is the only version retaining Pac Chat. Access is obtained through typing in its URL in a browser's address bar and pressing enter, or by following a direct link to it.

Nowadays, Pac Chat is empty. Very, very empty. This is mainly because of the presence of a newer, better chat application, HoboWars Chat.

Rules

While not original, these are in fact the rules:

1. Do not talk about Pac Chat.
2. DO NOT talk about Pac Chat.
3. Do not use acronyms; we don't like them.
4. Do not try and pick a fight if you're a non-donator, a.k.a., a whitey. You'll know if you're a whitey.
5. Misspellings and grammatical errors will earn you a beating.
6. No shirts, no shoes.
7. If you don't like what someone is saying, leave. Don't be a bitch.
8. Your text color shouldn't be black. It can be close. Just not black.
9. Try to avoid using boldfaced or underlined text all the time. You wouldn't hand in a résumé of all boldfaced text, now, would you?
10. If this is your first night in Pac Chat, you have no idea what you're doing.

Common Problems

• If your browser isn't refreshing the chat, don't panic. Check the settings along the bottom and make sure your speed isn't set to 0.
• If you want a chat update and don't want to wait for a tick, don't hit refresh. Hit enter on a blank chat line. Blank text isn't sent, but refreshing will send your last post again.

Dos and Don'ts

Dos

• DO chat. Talk shit with people about subjects that don't really matter.
• DO follow the rules.

Don'ts

• DON'T ask questions. Pac Chat isn't for questions. That's what this Help Wiki is for. Unless you got a question that isn't covered by this Wiki, such as "Hey, what happened to <insert name of your least favorite admin>, why is he such a dick?" That will not be covered by this Help Wiki. (If you got a question about a bug, Pac Chat's probably a good place to start. Keep it short and remember to check the Help Wiki first.)
• DON'T say stupid shit. For example...
  • GARBAGE PICKER: scure you all assholes
    • Clearly, he missed this lesson. For one, he misspelled. Then he tried to pick a fight while he was a whitey. Then he got kicked by Dogz. Dogz used to be cool.
  • GARBAGE PICKER: what the fuck was that
    • Whitey. Got to hate them. If you are going to be whitey in chat, at least try to keep it intelligent. You get a lot less leeway than most people, you know.

Name Colors

• Non-donators have white-colored names in Pac Chat, hence the reason they're called whiteys.
• Donators have boldface, orange-colored names in Pac Chat.
• Secretaries have boldfaced, green-colored names in Pac Chat.
• Vice Ministers have boldfaced, dark blue-colored names in Pac Chat.
• Ministers have boldfaced, red-colored names in Pac Chat.
• Governors have boldfaced, blue-colored names in Pac Chat.
