Rat Q&A
General
How do I find a rat/rats?
- You find them while exploring the city.
How do I keep rats I find?
- In order to own a rat, you must buy a rat cage from Pet Shop.
What can I do to better catch a rat?
- Nothing other than use all of your explore turns. Catching a rat is random.
If my cage is full and I am exploring the city, will I have the option to still pick up any rat that I find?
- No, you must have an empty slot in your cage in order to catch a rat.
What is the best type of rat?
Is there a limit to the number of rounds a rat fight can go?
- The limit is 999 moves, after that it simply says "**** and **** made draw."
How much EXP do I get from beating another rat?
- Attack some rat in the index above you (+1 your index) -- +5 EXP
- Attack some rat in your index -- +4 EXP
- Attack some rat in the index below you (-1 your index) -- +3 EXP
- Each time you attack the same rat, you lose 1 EXP that you would have gotten.
- Example: attack a rat in your index and win, get +4 EXP, attack that same rat again, get +3 EXP.
There is a rat on the "Rat Fights" page with the "[Fight]" link crossed out, what does this mean?
- You can only attack one rat 3 times per day. You must wait until the next day to attack it again.
Can I fight or duel my own rats against each other?
- No.
How do I raise my rats index?
- The index of your rat is dependent on all of your rat’s stats except for lifespan. Level, Vitality, Agility, Concentration, and Strength are all added up to form an index for your rat. So you can raise your rat’s index by training your stats.
What is Buddhism?
- Buddhism is a feature of rats that has not been implemented.
What is Hunger?
- Hunger is a feature that has not been implemented.
What is Skill p.?
- You gain 1 Skill p.(skill points) every time your rat gains a level. Skill p. are used to level the rats skills, these include:
- Training Mastery (+0.01 stat gain every time your rat is trained)
- Speed Mastery (+2% agility and +1.5% chance to sprint)
- Damage Mastery (+2% strength and +1% change to overpower)
- Defense Mastery (+2% consent and +1% chance to dodge)
- Buddhism (Not implemented)
- Vegetarianism (+2 Lifespan)
What is Stat p.?
- You gain 3 Stat p.(stat points) every time your rat gains a level. Stat points are used to increase the rats stats:
- Vitality (Your rat's life)
- Agility (Your rat's speed)
- Strength (Your rat's damage)
- Consent (Your rat's defense).
How do I purchase upgrades for my rat?
- For purchasing upgrades, all of the money must be withdrawn from your piggy bank and be on hand. Then go to the Rats page and select the rat you wish to upgrade. The price of the upgrade is listed in the "Cost" column for your rat.
- If you still have more levels of upgrades available for purchasing, and you have enough money for that upgrade on hand, simply press the "[+]" button in the far right column to apply an upgrade to that particular stat.
- There is no confirmation screen; once you press the button you have purchased the upgrade.
- There are 10 levels of upgrades for each stat category. Upgrading strength, agility, and concentration adds 4 for each upgrade purchased. Upgrading vitality adds 20 to your rats vitality per level. Upgrading lifespan adds 2 days per upgrade. Upgrading energy adds 10 maximum energy per level.
How much does it cost to purchase every upgrade for a rat?
- It takes $325,000 to fully upgrade each of the Energy, Agility, Strength, Concentration, and Vitality stats.
- It costs $630,000 to fully upgrade your rat’s lifespan.
- To completely upgrade your rat, it costs $2,255,000.
My rat has negative lifespan. How did this happen?
- Your rat will be listed with negative lifespan if you have applied any one of the bonus skill points you received from leveling towards Vegetarianism.
- Your rats lifespan will still be listed as a positive number on the page you see of your rats stats, however, it may show as negative on the "Rat Fights" page once you are into the days that Vegetarianism give you.
What is the purpose of the Cemetery?
- You can reserve a spot for your rat in the cemetery. This will save some of your rats information for you or others to look up after it dies, including your rats name, your name, its age, level, and index, as well as the time that it died.
- If you pay for a spot then abandon your rat, you will forfeit your cemetery space.
If I have a 1 slot cage and purchase a 2 or 3 slot cage, will my rat be lost?
- No, your rat will still be there, you'll just receive extra slots.
Duels
How do I sign up for a duel?
- Your rat must be at least level 5 and index 5 before dueling. Your rat must also have a lifespan of at least 2 in order to be listed on the Manage Arena page. Rats with 1, 0, or negative amounts of lifespan may not be able to duel.
- Take $15,000 out of your piggy bank, go to the Rats page, select your rat that you would like to duel, then click on "Sign up". Confirm that you would like to sign up then proceed to the "Manage arena" page. Here you can select your rats that are signed up for a duel and pick a random opponent.
- You must pay $15,000 every time you wish to duel your rat.
Can I pick which rat I want to duel?
- You cannot choose a specific rat, only those that are signed up for duels. Rats that are signed up in your index will be shown as "Random opponent". If there is more than one, simply pick one.

- You receive nothing for losing a duel.

- No, once you make it, it cannot be changed.
Rats in Hobo Fights
How do rats help in hobo battles?
- In a hobo battle, a rat gets the chance to do damage every 5 rounds of the hobo battle.
What determines which rat does damage in a hobo battle?
- Agility makes a rat more likely to be the one doing damage in a hobo fight. The higher your agility vs. your opponents agility, the more likely your rat is to do damage to the hobo you're attacking.
What determines how much damage my rat does in a hobo battle?
- As Malord originally explained it, a rats damage is X% of the total life of the rat owner’s life.
- This X% is influenced by the Strength of the attacking rat and the Concentration of the defending rat.
- Generally speaking, the higher your hobos level, the more damage your rat will do if it gets the hits in hobo fights.
- Your rats Vitality is not a factor on how much damage is done in hobo battles.
If I have more than one rat, which one fights in hobo fights?
- The highest leveled rat will fight with you in a hobo fight. If you have 2 rats with the same level, then the rat listed in the topmost slot is used for the fight
Can I change the order of the rats in my cage?
- No.
Rat Types
- There are currently 16 types of obtainable rats. All rat can be caught repeatedly except for the Golden Rat, which can only be obtained once. The rats in the second table have been phased out, but may return in the future.
