So as not to have the same one or two people winning the UFC every week, there is a percentage tax given to Champions of the UFC.  These percentage taxes are permanent taxes, meaning there is no way to ever remove the tax.  The percentage lost is 5% of your remaining stats, however the 5% is not added but multiplied.  For example, the first week you lose 5% of 100%, leaving you with 95%.  The second win is 5% of 95% (4.75%), leaving you with 90.25%.

Champions can temporarily reduce the tax by 1% on their stats by not participating during any of the following UFCs.  By forfeiting any week and any chance to become champion of the week, they recover a flat 1% of their stats back.  Champions cannot gain past 100% of their normal stats.  However, this tax reduction is '''temporary'''.  If you win a future UFC, ALL tax breaks are lost AND you increase your tax by the standard 5%.

Ultimate Fisty Cuffs (UFC) is the ultimate in fights bringing out the best of the best of you fighters! This multi-round multi-person fight is a weekly battle contest to determine who is the best fighter in the game. All entrants are randomly placed into brackets of 5 that go on to duke it out ultra-violently. The winners of each round receive a portion of the Fighter's Pot and go on to fight in the next round. This continues until there is only one Hobo left standing, and that Hobo will be crowned Champion for the week and win glory and prizes!

General Information

Each week, you can sign-up to join the UFC. Sign-up begins at the completion of the previous UFC (usually Thursday or Friday) and lasts until Sunday at noon reset. Sign-up costs vary depending on which week it is and the version of the game.

Only Status Effects and your Blood Alcohol Tolerance are locked upon signing up to the UFC. Health is locked when sign ups close.

  • Week 1: $10,000 (HW1/HW2) / $500 (FBHW/Arena)
  • Week 2: $50,000 (HW1/HW2) / $1,000 (FBHW/Arena)
  • Week 3: $100,000 (HW1/HW2) / $5,000 (FBHW/Arena)
  • Week 4: $250,000 (HW1/HW2) / $10,000 (FBHW/Arena)
  • Week 5: $500,000 (HW1/HW2) / $25,000 (FBHW/Arena)
  • Week 6: $1,000,000 (HW1/HW2) / $50,000 (FBHW/Arena)
  • And then the cycle starts over.

UFC fights have multiple factors that determine how fights are run:

  • Skills: These are the skills from the skill shop. They are fired the same way in the UFC as they are in normal hobo fights.
    • - These are locked in at the time of the fight.
  • Effects: These are the candy or booze status effects. They can also be the negative effects from being dumped in a dumpster as well.
    • - These are locked in when you sign up.
  • Rats: Rats will run every 5 turns like in normal fights if allowed.
    • - These are locked in at the time of the fight.
  • Gear: This is your armory pieces. Disabled means nothing allowed and Allowed means any armory piece is allowed and full features will be used.
    • - These are locked in at the time of the fight.
  • Behavior: Determines if characters will follow their preset behaviors or not.
    • - This is locked in at the time of the fight.
  • Health: Determines whether or not your health will be reset between each round or not.
    • - This is locked in at the end of sign ups.
  • Battle Length: How long battles are allowed to run. If more than one fighter is still alive when time runs out, the judges will determine a winner based on damage dealt and damage taken. Possible values are 100, 250, 500, 1000, or unlimited.

At noon on Sunday, all fighters are randomly put into groups of 5 (unless the tiny brackets special is in effect). Fights begin at Sunday PM reset and continue throughout the week. The winners of each bracket are then combined to form the next series of brackets until only one fighter remains.

Champion Stat Reduction

So as not to have the same one or two people winning the UFC every week, there is a percentage tax given to Champions of the UFC. These percentage taxes are permanent taxes, meaning there is no way to ever remove the tax. The percentage lost is 5% of your remaining stats, however the 5% is not added but multiplied. For example, the first week you lose 5% of 100%, leaving you with 95%. The second win is 5% of 95% (4.75%), leaving you with 90.25%.

1 Win 2 Wins 3 Wins 4 Wins 5 Wins 6 Wins 7 Wins 8 Wins 9 Wins 10 Wins
95% 90.25% 85.74% 81.45% 77.38% 73.51% 69.83% 66.34% 63.02% 59.87%

Champions can temporarily reduce the tax by 1% on their stats by not participating during any of the following UFCs. By forfeiting any week and any chance to become champion of the week, they recover a flat 1% of their stats back. Champions cannot gain past 100% of their normal stats. However, this tax reduction is temporary. If you win a future UFC, ALL tax breaks are lost AND you increase your tax by the standard 5%.

The formula for determining stat reduction percentage:

MIN ( 100% , [100% * (95% ^ {# wins}) + {# non-participate weeks since last win}] )

Betting on UFC fighters

You may bet on who you think is going to win rounds, and eventually the UFC. Betting costs are the same amount as the entry cost, and you may bet on one person or any number of people. Each time one of the fighters you bet on wins a bracket, you receive one ticket. (A fighter that wins 3 brackets means you receive 3 tickets). Picking the correct winner of final bracket yields you 3 tickets.

The amount of money you win from betting is then determined as: ( # Tickets Received ) * (Total UFC Betting Pot / Total # of Winning Tickets )
