__FORCETOC__
+
History
+
Bernard's Mansion was originally designed and implemented by the late Governor Malord. It was meant to be a place that rewarded players with exclusive benefits, such as access to a 15T (later 20T) food item, an exclusive Message Board, and useful equipment known as Special Items, provided that they were at least level 20, partook in at least 1000 battles, and had at least a win percentage of 80%. It was also made top secret, meaning that any discussion of Bernard's Mansion or its contents in-game would lead to undesirable consequences, such as a loss of access to the Mansion, a Message Board ban, or even a jailing. Bernard's Mansion was popular among those who had access to it and largely went unchanged for many years.

+
It wasn't until June 15, 2010, that Bernard's Mansion saw its first significant update: Governor Cube released a revamped, redesigned Bernard's Mansion, one that was more accessible to more players and had better variety of benefits. He also tossed out the top secret policy of Bernard's Mansion, which allowed players to freely discuss Bernard's Mansion in-game.

HoboArena Version 2
+
So far, the updates to Bernard's Mansion have been generally well-received by the game's community.
In 2013, HoboArena received a complete makeover. The code was updated to use the current codebase of HoboWars and Facebook HoboWars (and eventually HoboWars2). This allowed for events such as Adventures, UFC, the updated Side Wars setup, among other events and areas. However, due to the short competition event time of 90 days, some aspects of the game were altered to provide better game play.
+

It has been said that different rounds of the Arena would provide different special rules along with different prize categories. This will allow hobos to compete in many different prize categories using various techniques and game locations.
+
Gaining Entry
+
Before you can enter Bernard's Mansion, there are two prerequisites that must be fulfilled:

But what really sets the remake of Arena apart is that hobos don't create an account on HoboArena. Instead they use their pre-existing accounts on HoboWars, HoboWars2, or Facebook HoboWars to battle in the Arena rounds. Prizes are rewarded to these main versions, allowing for more unique prizes.
+
* You must be at least 100.
+
* You must have at least 2500 battles under your belt.

Round 1
+
Once you meet those two requirements, four ways to gain entry to the prestigious mansion will be available to you.
The opening round of the new Arena had a few minor adjustments made mid-round. These included the removal, or adjustment of certain foods and other items that were deemed to be too powerful in the initial days of the round. In addition, this round marked the introduction of 2 new game locations; the Raffle Room and the Boxing Stadium.
+

The round began on June 4th, 2013 and lasted for 90 days.
+
Entry Method #1: Receive permanent access to the mansion.
Special Rules
+
* You must have a lifetime win percentage of at least 80%.
-- Unique Rules go here --
+
** If your lifetime win percentage dips under 80%, you will lose access to the mansion until it is brought back up to 80%.

+
Entry Method #2: Receive 5 days of guaranteed access to the mansion, which are renewable once access is lost.
+
* You must have a lifetime win percentage of at least 50%.
+
* You must have fought in at least 1000 battles in the last six months, winning at least 80% of those battles.
+
** If your six-month win percentage dips under 80%, you cannot receive the five days of guaranteed access until it is brought back up to 80%.
+
** The check of your six-month win percentage is not a real time check. If you fail to qualify for any reason, you must wait 12 hours before you can check again, even if you gain the necessary difference.

Revision as of 11:10, 15 May 2015

Bernard's Mansion is a location in the City that is accessible only by the most accomplished of hobos.

It houses multiple rooms and provides exceedingly useful benefits to fighters, beggars, and hybrids alike.

History

So far, the updates to Bernard's Mansion have been generally well-received by the game's community.

Gaining Entry

Before you can enter Bernard's Mansion, there are two prerequisites that must be fulfilled:

  • You must be at least 100.
  • You must have at least 2500 battles under your belt.

Once you meet those two requirements, four ways to gain entry to the prestigious mansion will be available to you.

Entry Method #1: Receive permanent access to the mansion.

  • You must have a lifetime win percentage of at least 80%.
    • If your lifetime win percentage dips under 80%, you will lose access to the mansion until it is brought back up to 80%.

Entry Method #2: Receive 5 days of guaranteed access to the mansion, which are renewable once access is lost.

  • You must have a lifetime win percentage of at least 50%.
  • You must have fought in at least 1000 battles in the last six months, winning at least 80% of those battles.
    • If your six-month win percentage dips under 80%, you cannot receive the five days of guaranteed access until it is brought back up to 80%.
    • The check of your six-month win percentage is not a real time check. If you fail to qualify for any reason, you must wait 12 hours before you can check again, even if you gain the necessary difference.

Entry Method #3: Receive 30 days of guaranteed access to the mansion, which are renewable until access is lost.

  • You must fork over $50,000,000 to Bernard.
    • Use the computer inside of the mansion to buy more days of access for $1,500,000 per day of access.

Entry Method #4: Receive 30 days of guaranteed access to the mansion, which are renewable until access is lost.

  • You must fork over 2,500,000 tokens to Bernard.
    • Use the computer inside of the mansion to buy more days of access for 75,000 tokens per day of access.

Lastly, regardless of what entry method you chose, you must pay for a membership card, which costs 10 points. Once you purchase a membership card, you will never need to purchase another one again.

Also, keep in mind that once you receive guaranteed access, you cannot lose access to the mansion until your days of access run out, regardless of what your current win percentage is.

Features

Bernard's Mansion has a variety of features, such as its own form of currency (Credits), nine rooms to explore, and special items that have exceedingly beneficial bonuses.

Credits

Bernard's Mansion has its own form of currency, called Credits, which are only usable inside the mansion. You gain credits daily by having access to certain rooms in the mansion.
